i made six christmas cards for rhys' and my families , as a way of dealing with the sevear tinsle rage i was experiencing!
i painted six water colour images based around christmas traditions , or folk lore, and circular widow set them into cards, i made in cream , with a red accent rim.
inside on the left was the origin of each the folk story or tradition.

they turned out quite good i hadnt painted for soo long i had a lot of fun doing them and looking up the origins of the traditions -

but i am now quite upset in all my hurry i failed to get good quality photos of the finnished works . i have photos of 4 of the six cards , but only the one i took before giving to my brother was in focus- but i'll post them anyway just to show i have skills other than sitting infront of a camera .

the traditions included:
1.SANTA: both the character base in bishop nicholous, and the image base and 8 deer drawn slay (or chariot) of the holly king
2.DECORATED FUR TREE: and its pagan festival begunings
3.CANDY CANE : another thing to thank germany for like much of our modern christmas celerbration
4.WREATH: and the magickal meaning of the wheel of life and the holy greenery brought into the homes in the winter
5.STOCKING: and the tale of bishop nicholous' anominious generiosity in the middle of the night
6.POINTSETTIA: a mexician folk lore made the festive foliege a common and loved christmas decoration

on another note i found a really sweet cute gothic model - she will be one of my girls when i shoot my collections (if i can ever afford to make them)
